Thermography and Thermal Imaging
AVT engineers have considerable expertise in thermography, together with other condition based maintenance technologies and can therefore provide consultancy support and training to optimize the benefits for clients of collected thermography data. (Thermography is particularly useful when used in conjunction with lubrication management and vibration analysis techniques)
AVT are also value added resellers of the world renowned FLIR infrared thermal imaging cameras and associated software. The range of FLIR thermal imagers offers affordable, fully integrated thermal imaging and measurement solutions for applications including condition based maintenance (CBM), process development and optimization, industrial process monitoring, facilities management, product verification, quality assurance, safety applications and more. In parallel, high energy costs and increasing energy efficiency legislation drive the application of infrared cameras in the building sectors for HVAC issues and building assessments.
A thermal imaging camera is a reliable non-contact instrument, which is able to scan and visualize the temperature distribution of entire surfaces of machinery and electrical equipment quickly and accurately. Infrared cameras detect and measure heat which develops in virtually all electrical, electronic or mechanical applications. In addition special cameras can be used for applications as diverse as detecting process gas leaks and veterinary injury detection.
An infrared camera can detect even small temperature differences in most operating conditions, including when there is smoke, fog or steam involved in the measurement environment. Depending on the application, the solution may involve a lightweight hand held portable unit for checking electrical equipment, through to a fixed infrared camera that continuously monitors your process or asset, detecting minute temperature differences 24/7.
